Wedding of Jason and Darren Vranjes - 1998

On 28 February 1998, after being together nearly three years, Jason and I were afforded a 'Rite of Blessing'. The traditional ceremony was carried out by a Church of England Priest, in front of our friends at the time. The service took place at The Friends Meeting House, Quaker Hall, Ordnance Road, Southampton.
The decision to formally cement our relationship, was taken, during one of our biggest battles, we have ever fought, to remain together, at all costs, despite the threat of deportation, due to the nature of the then, outdated relationship rules. The threat of deportation hung over us like a dark cloud. We wanted to prove to the world, just how much we loved each other. The 'Rite of Blessing', was the only option available to us, at the time!
