Today is also the day we got together, twenty years ago. In 1995, we left this Country in spirit, ended up in Australia and began the first chapter of our time together. It has been the best twenty years of my life and I wouldn't change it for the World.
Things have become unsettled in recent times and I know most of you know the reasons why. This is not the time to discuss those reasons, except to say this. We may well be living in another Country, new names, new home, but my heart at least will always remain in Southampton. I have spent twenty eight years living here, longer than most of you have been alive and I shall miss this place everyday, along with all of you!
Jason is my life and world, without him, I would surely not be here today. I love him with all my heart. We have been through a lot of battles in our life together, all have been hard and we have over come them all. This Marriage has finally allowed us to cement a wish, I made to myself in 1998, to celebrate our union together on our twenty year anniversary, as we have done so today.
I would like to thank Jay Greaves for giving me the honour of becoming my best man, because that is what he is. Jay has helped me through the worst time in my life. He has sat with me, through my illness, watched the tears and been nothing but a friend. He has taken nothing, given tonnes and been the son I always wanted.
Thank you Natalee Michelle, for being a dear friend, a daughter and a brave young Lady. You make me so proud to call you a close, loving, caring and member of my family. I love you so much for being there with me through my relapse in April, ever since and today, giving me away, in front of all of you! A true, loyal and courageous girl, who jeopardised her career for me, at a time when she should have been concentrating on University. Love you Nat!
Thank you to Nils and Sara, for sitting as family in the front row, at the Registry Office. Without you both, I would not be here today Sara, you saved my life then and remain firmly in my heart as family, forever. You gave me a second chance, that I shall never forget!
Thank you to all those who played their part in making our day special. To Dima, Melissa and Andrew for the photography. To Melissa for our Wedding Book. To Kirsty for being our Bridesmaid. Thank you to my old friend and sparring partner, Stephen Hick, for all you have done for us both in recent times. Thank you for being there and thank you for giving the reading at our Wedding! To my other gay daughter, Jamie as my Witness, thanks for all the fun times. To Jay as my Best Man and to all of you for attending, I am humbled!
Jason. I love you more now than ever. I am so happy you agreed to be my husband on New Years Day. You have made me the happiest man in the World. At a time when we are both ill, we have grown stronger. I will love you to my dying day. We are forever and always. Love is eternal!
Thank you everyone!
