The night before the Wedding, Melissa arrived. She is the sister of a friend, Gary, who we haven;t seen in a while. It was by sheer luck and generosity that Melissa agreed to help us out, during these final stages of our Marriage.
We have come up against obstacles all our life and to be honest without Melissa, I don't think we would have got through these last few days.
On top of already what Melissa had done for us, she had also agreed to be our photographer for the day. She had also agreed to make us a last minute cake,
Ciggie in the morning!
After being let down by our cake maker, Melissa said she would at least like to attempt to make us a cake for our big day. She had already done so much, that we did not want to impose further, but she insisted.
Melissa and Jay decided to stay up and do something for us, as the circumstances for not receiving the cake are pretty dreadful.
Reluctantly I agreed to let her do it for us, as a present, as we were in circumstances beyond our control. Melissa and Jay Greaves, stayed up until 5 am, to produce something, that is streets above anything I would have wanted. Deeply personal, delicious and very special to us!
I got up at 7am, early for me and went down stairs to tidy the house. I spied a cake in the kitchen, not what I expected, but I really didn't care, because two dear friends had made it for us!
Jay got up about half an hour later. He said they had been up to the early hours, made a mess, cleaned the mess and for the first time in four years Jay was pleased to see Melissa again, after they drifted apart. He asked if I liked the cake. I said it was perfect. Jay smiled, took me into his room, where he lifted a box, underneath was the real cake. It looked beautiful. Far more than I could have imagined!
Natalee Michelle, was the first to arrive, getting to Capri at 8.30am. She was a bit wet and had no umbrella, fake tan had run and she wasn't too happy. Still she bought two bottles of Asti and I was thirsty!
We arrived within ten minutes. Over the next hour we were greeted by our guests. I wanted to mention Rachel Wyatt, my old School friend, from Henry Cort School. She went out of her way to make our Wedding. It was emotional to see her. I had spent a good hour and a half on the phone to Rachel, during a Bipolar Relapse. She had given me advice, help and encouragement.
I haven't seen Rachel since 1987 and for her to be with me on our Wedding Day, meant so much. I was truly grateful and honoured.
Rachel is a true Lady. She has opened her heart and soul for myself and Jason. Not many people have done that. We are both so happy she could be there to support us.
Thank you Rachel! x
Signing the Register!
After signing the formal Register, we both made our way up the aisle to Leona Lewis signing Run. It was time to greet out guests. Thank you to all of you for attending our Wedding, we were touched by all your kind words!
The London Hotel!
Emmy, Rachel and myself walked the short distance to The London Hotel to our reception, where we were greeted by Lucinda Lashes and glasses of Prosecco.
Jason took my family down too The Registry Office first. Many thanks to Cousins Emmy, Rachel, Ruby and Aunty Lipstick, Cher to my Dolly, for attending our day. For that I am truly thankful. You all mean the World to me!
Myself and Jason followed shortly afterwards. To be honest, we were glad to get out of the stressful environment. Getting ready for ones Wedding has been the most stressful day of my life!
Mr and Mr Vranjes!
The service was tres emotional. I began by sitting in the wrong chair, promptly to be asked to change seats. When I began to say my vows, my voice immediately broke and I started to cry! This is just how emotional our lives have been. A Roller Coaster ride of emotion and tears.
The rings were given to the wrong Best Men, but thankfully changed swiftly, before anyone noticed! The rest of the short ceremony, went without a hitch.
Stephen C Hick, gave a reading, which was perfectly performed, in front of our guests. Legal words and declarations and the exchange of rings, all done without mistake.
Melissa was taking photographs throughout the service and we are most grateful for this also. The Register signed by Jason and witnessed by Jay Greaves and Jamie Hough, two very special people in our life!
My Gay Family!
My adorable Cousin Ruby was there on our day. I have missed her and my family, much. Ruby is so precious. She is adorable, loving and every inch a member of my family. I had so many cuddles from Rubes, it made me shed a few tears of joy!
Mary Mac and Jessica Leslie!
Our entertainment was provided by the fabulous Mary Mac and Jessica Leslie. Mary Mac was absolutely wonderful, as she always is. Her voice is fantastic her words, funny, poignant and memorable. She looked lovely and her performance was faultless.
Jessica, what can I say. Thank you so much for agreeing to perform on our day. Your voice is so special and powerful. You are a truly talented young lady and made our Reception complete. I had tears in my eyes and will always remember the songs you sang.
It means so much to me, that you could play a part. A piece of you, will always remain in my heart.
Thank you Jess! x
