Where it all began!
Today has been an emotional day for me. It has been about closing a chapter in my life and returning to the place where essentially, my life began , St Ives in Cornwall. I am not sure if you know what I mean by began, but this is more about my parents.
My parents were married, in Fareham, in 1966, and they spent their honeymoon in St, Ives, in Cornwall. Today was all about closing a chapter on my life. Closure if you will!
My parents began their married life in St Ives, so it was only fitting that one of the last places in England we should visit was St Ives, it is where I began after all. I suppose when they began their married life here in St Ives, it was kinda special that we should, more or less begin our married life here, also.
I remember a photograph, that my parents showed me of themselves stood on the sea front at St ives and I could pin point more or less where they stood, when the photograph was taken, so I thought Jason and I should have a picture taken in the same spot, well as near as damn it anyway!
So here is the picture, taken in St Ives, more or less in the same spot, on a rainy, lively afternoon, raining and probably a little different to the weather back then. Jason has a smile on his face, but looks can be deceiving. Jason hates the rain!
Today was important for me especially. This was about family. I may not talk to my parents any more, but I am grateful they bought me into the World. Obviously, without them, I would never had met Jason and life could have been very different!
It was raining hard and I mean belting it down and despite Jason's annoyance I was determined to capture the moment, that we were here in St Ives.
As the rain came down, we took shelter in The Queens Hotel, just round the corner from the front. Just me and Jason talking about the old times, where are future lies and what we can do, to achieve all we want to achieve.
It was great going to St Ives and I hope we will one day come back here, when the weather is better and we can see it it its full glory. It is a great place.
Peace and love to all!
