Her surname used to be White, Cilla White. As a young girl she used to live in Liverpool, in the notorious Scotland Road.
At one end of Scotland Road, there was the famous Protestant Church, at the other end, the Catholic Church.
My Grandmother, used to live next door to her and her Mother. Her Mother worked a market stall and as my Gran said, she was always a trooper, battler and hard worker. She had her own views on Cilla. Before she passed away, my Gran would always tell the story of Cilla popping in and out of my Gran's when her Mother was at work. Her enduring comment, was the fact that she had no shoes on her feet and looked like a street child, but what a lovely child she was!
