'If only I had seen this one coming!'
Past, Present and Future Reading. 9 August 2015
This is a card about 'the uses of power' and 'power structures'. It can represent someone who does well in a highly structured environment!
This is a very war like card. The Emperor sits on a throne, surrounded by symbols of Mars, the God of War. Under his robes, he wears an full suit of armour, as though he will be ready at a moments notice, to defend his Kingdom and his people. He is Authority; in him are reason, government, leadership and paternity. He can be seen as a General in armed forces, or a Commanding Officer. This card could also represent a Woman, though the woman would in no way be appealing.
The Emperor can also represent male authority figures, such as a Judge in a lawsuit, The Police, but most times, it turns out to be your Boss. The appearance of this card, indicates that you will be having an audience with someone higher up the corporate ladder.
This card could also represent the Querent, if he is the commanding type, very sure of himself, or if he feels he is The Captain of his own destiny.
WORK: Rules, procedures, standards and policies are involved. You are expected to comply and give your top performance
Money: Your financial state needs planning to reinforce it. Seek wise counsel, before making any definite plans or changes.
FUTURE: The best offense is a good defense, Trust someone in power to look out for you, or at least point you in the right direction!
Five young men are fighting with staves. From the look of things, there is no telling who the clear winner might be; after all they are fighting each other as separate entities. If Wands deal with enterprise and glory, then these men are seeking a challenge, but the outcome is unclear.
If two men band together and fight off the other three, they might win. The card is about strong competition in the Querent's field, or a quarrel, with neighbours, in the home or at work. It points to obstacles, possibly a lawsuit. This is a card about spinning your wheels, for the more you try to accomplish, the less you achieve. You are spreading yourself too thin or working without a plan.
When reversed, think of the wands, as falling from the grip of the young men, and leaving them without a means to fight with each other. The opposite of strife is harmony in one's affairs, new opportunities, and hopes for a happy conclusion to unsettling events!
WORK: Bickering and feuding divide the ranks. Management and labour do not see eye to eye!
MONEY: Competing needs and wants vie your resources. You are struggling to make ends meet!
FUTURE: Preparing offensive and defensive strategies for the future!
Eight wands are flying through the air, although their forward movement is lessening and their trajectory seems to be carrying them back to Earth. They can represent new ideas, goals, careers, resumes, projects in the works, love letters, emails; also a journey or love of open spaces. If you were to take a handful of arrows and shoot them at a single target, some would hit the mark and some would miss entirely.
When reversed, it is time to slow down and reorganize. Stand back and observe, rather than jump in blindly or try to force your hand. This card may indicate jealousy, violence, quarrels and disputes. Possibly an awaited message does not arrive, or the answer is not what was anticipated.
WORK: Keep sight of what brought you to this job in the first place.
LOVE: Two people sharing a common path are heading for the same goals together.
MONEY: A cheque is in the main. Time payments are indicated.
FUTURE: Put proposals forward!
