I loved the show. as I loved Dynasty, Dallas and knots Landing. Actually I loved all the Soaps of the time. Escapism, at another time of austerity in Britain. Like most English Soaps of the time, 'Howards Way' was centred around a pub, The Jolly Sailor. Back in my day It was a bit rough and ready, certainly not the Gastro Pub it is today! It's nice to see it still has the traditional feel, and delighted to see it has that modern twist. The food as a rule is excellent, fresh sea food, normally perfectly cooked. A great place to while away the hours on a hot Saturday afternoon!
Myself, Dale, Natalee and Traycey went for lunch and a few beers this weekend. Moroccan for myself and Traycey and Lobster for Dale and Natalee. I believe the Lobster was slightly over cooked. Nothing worse than over cooked Lobster, hard, stringy and difficult to eat. The Moroccan was fine. The day was pleasant enough, so none of us minded too much. Though at £26.00 for the Lobster, I personally would have said something.
After our late lunch by the coast, we returned to Gay Capri for Gin and Tonic of the patio. Lager, fish and chips and a sausage. Back to reality with a bump! I'd rather have Chip Shop chips any day!
